"In war there are no unwounded soliders." -Jose Narosky
In one, well-organized paragraph, explain this quote. What does it mean? How can claim be possible? Use examples from things you have read, heard, or experienced to connect this to your everyday life.
Jose was right, all soliders experience some form of wound while being in war, whether it be physical or mental. With combat come injuries, some soldiers might end up being shot, stabbed, or even blown up with a IED or grenade but thats what war is. Other people are affected by what they have seen during combat, one of their friends dying, the thought of killing another man, these thoughts may follow them back which then turn into PTSD which can lead to suicide which yet another injury sustained from war. Jose couldn't have put it any better with his quote.

ReplyDeleteIn war there is no such thing as an unwounded soldier. The emotional scars for those who lived never go away. The memories of fallen brothers are forever there. They can not supress these memories because it was a major part of there lives. They must live knowing that even if they did make it home healthy, they are still a wounded soldier.

ReplyDeleteThe quote "In war there are no unwounded soliders". Guns and bombs etc, can hurt you but fighting for your country that is your reward and that is what I think this quote is about. Even if you get shot in the war, it doesn't mean that you lost it means that you are fighting for your country and you should be proud of that. So the quote "In war there are no unwounded soliders" it means no matter what that when you come out of war you can never be unwounded but you should feel thankful and proud for what you have done for your country.
This quote is very true. In war there are no unwounded soldiers because even if a soldier is not shot or killed, he or she can still suffer the wounds of PSTD-Post Trumatic Stress Disorder, and have to live with what happened in war for many years to come. For some, this may make a person suicidial, others may feel depresed. Either way no matter what happens to any soldier who serves in any war, that person may suffer, leaving no unwounded soldiers.

ReplyDeleteIn war there are no unwounded soldiers. Wounds are not just physical, but sociological and emotional. War can cause mass shock and emotional wound. War can also cause anger and rage. War wounds a soldier in many ways. If the wound is not healed, the war will never end the the hearts and minds of a soldier.

ReplyDeleteThe quote, "In war there are no unwounded soldiers." is one that is completely true. This quote means that no soldier who goes into battle comes out without some kind of scar, whether it is physical or emotional. Seeing firsthand or experiencing the severe bloodshed of war will stick with a person for the rest of their life. It will provide horrible memories that a soldier will never forget, leaving deep scars in their mind.
This quote means that, during or after a war, all the soldiers come back with some sort of hurt or pain. I believe this is true because even if you are not injured during a war, you still can have memories of what you have seen or the people you have lost. Many people that have fought in the war bring back life lessons that will change his/her perspective on life or some general idea. In movies or stories about a soldier’s life, you can see the changes war can make. All soldiers change after a war, even if it is just a little.

ReplyDelete"In war there are no unwounded soliders", to me this means that not matter what the men and women will always have a scar. That scar is formed from war, weather it happens to be a phyical or a mental scar everyone in war suffers. Seeing death, causing death, and knowing your the one who caused someone elses pain and suffering all for the name of the United States. Most all people in war walk away with phyical scars and the scars of losing friends, having to see them mangled infront of you but unable to greive for them until later.

ReplyDeleteThis quote means that everyone is hurt because of the outcomes of war. The injuries include emotional and physical scars.People know at least one person affected by war in some way. My grandpa served in a couple wars and most likely had emotional scars for the years he spent away from his family and friends. He probably witness the deaths and self sacrifices of his allies during the war.

ReplyDeleteIn the quote "In war there are no unwounded soldiers." It states that no soldier leaves unwounded. This is true because the soldier may not be physically wounded but also emotionally wounded. For example they might be suffering post traumatic stress disorder. This is triggered by an experience that they remember and it keeps replaying over and over in their heads. It is hard to get the soldier to talk about it. So, just remember just because you don’t see some kind of bandage on the soldier doesn’t mean they weren’t wounded.
There Are No Unwounded Soldiers - Abby Gilsdorf
ReplyDeleteMr. Jose is absolutly right, no soldiers are unwounded. Many soldiers in war do get injured and sometimes even killed. Others who are not stuck by bullets, caught in bombing, or injured in other ways, are also, in my opinion, wounded. These souldiers are wounded from within. They have seen their friends and comrads get hurt. They have heard each others stories. They experiance the the hardships and events that are uexplainable to people who do not know what it is like. They live the images in their head and dream about their experiances at night. They are wounded, just like Jose said.

ReplyDeleteThis quote means that everyone who is in a war is hurt in one way or another. Also if the person has no injuries he can stil be wounded by a lose or just his memories of the countless battles. This is possible because everyone loses something in a war like friends, peace of mind, body parts, or their sense of saftey. Those are the reasons i believe no one is uninjured in a war.
I believe that every solider is somewhat wounded, wheather is be in a physical or emotional way. Soliders can be wounded in a physical way by getting shot or maybe just hurt in general. I believe that soliders can also be wounded in an emotional way by the loss of a partner or simply being away from family. When soliders return home they will always still be wounded in an emotional way by PTS, by having nightmares that don't go away from being in the war. I do blieve that all people experience some kind of wound by being in the war.

ReplyDeleteJose Narosky says, "In war there are no unwounded soliders," and this quote is completely true. The wound a soldier suffers may be physical or emotional. Physical wounds are pretty obvious, but emotional wounds, such as PTSD or depression can be easily covered up. For instance, some soldiers see their friends die in front of them, and this can have many negative effects, some lasting for the rest of the soldier's life. No matter who goes to war, everyone will have some sort of injury afterwards.

ReplyDeleteWar hurts a lot of people physically and mentaly. War is not something to mess around with. when take an oath to join the war, you are pretty much in it for life. Unwounded soldiers are lucky to be alive and not hurt. wounded soldiers fight strong, hard, and fight for what they believe in. "In war there is no unwounded soldiers." Sadly everyone is hurt in a way.

ReplyDelete"In war, there are no unwounded soldiers", to me, this means that every veteran has suffered from some sort of wound. Whether it is an emotional wound or a physical wound, it is permanantly there in the back of his mind, forever. If a soldier's scar is from loosing an arm in battle, or watching a friend die right before his eyes, the scaring is the same. Embeded in the soldier's heart, for the rest of his or her life. War has an effect on everyone's lives, but the ones who have seen everything there, will remember it the most.
The quote, "In war, there are no wounded soliders" by Jose Narosky, is completly true. This means that every solider is affected by war in some way. A solider doesn't need to be injured to be affected by war, many soldiers have post traumatic stress disorder when they get back home from war. During war there are so many negative things that can happen to a solider. All soliders are wounded in war.

ReplyDeleteI believe that this quote is very true. In war a soldier may come back unwounded physically, but they will always be reminded of what they had to do to survive. Some soldiers are forced to kill another human being, or are forced by a commanding officer to open fire on intruding civilians. These occurrences can lead to night terrors and other unwanted reminders. Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder, a disease that can cause a former hero of war to commit suicide is one of the many ways a soldier can be affected by war.
This quote couldn’t have been worded better. After serving in a war, no solider will come home unwounded. These wounds can be physical or mental. Soldiers may be injured by a stab, bombes, gun shots, or just physical stress. Besides the obvious wounds, soldiers are also affected mentally. Soldiers will never forget the feeling of shooting someone, or seeing someone die right in front of their eyes. Soldiers will miss their families and friends when they are away from home for a long time, which will affect their mental health. Both physical and mental wounds are unforgettable and will harm a solider for the rest of his or her life.

ReplyDeleteThe quote above that we were assigned to read, is meaning that all though you may not have any physical scars. You are not going to walk out of a war healthy. Soldiers in war see things that people not in war cant even imagine. I would never be able to go over there and do what they are doing, so i give them alot of props.

ReplyDeleteThis quote means that whether a soldier is physically hurt or not they are still wounded. They are wounded mentally. Many soldiers have post tramatic stress when they are out of the war. I have heard from people that soldiers do not like to talk about war. This is because the images they see from war are hurtful. War affects all soldiers in various ways. The impact of war leaves many emotional scars that never seem to heal.

ReplyDeleteIn war there are no unwounded soliders
This qoute may mean many differnt things to everyone but i think that this means that no solider is left behinde in war, no one is forgoten and everyone is remembered in some way shape or form. Every solider is wounded when they come back to America becuase all the memoryes that are left behind and all the things that happened when they were over seas.it also is a big change for them when they come back to america. its like everything is new to them.

ReplyDeleteI sagree with Jose Narosky when he said, "In war tehre are no unwounded soldiers". Although there are many soldiers that walk away from war physically fine, but in reality, they are all wounded. Whether they are wounded physically or mentally. The experiences soldiers go through in war is something that will stay with them for the rest of their life. As much as soldiers may want to forget some experiences, they will have live the rest of their life wounded with these memories. Overall, every soldier leaves war wounded.

ReplyDeleteI think this means that war effects every one, especially those fighting in it. Maybe not physicaly, but mentaly it has an impact on every one. Wars impact every one in a different way. Some people may not have scars they might just have the terrible memories. For example some people that were in the war suffer from post tramadic stress disorder. Another bad effect would be soldiers being away from their families for long periods of time. Along with this many people die, or get injured, or are MIA. Everyone in some way is impacted by war, and it is usually for the bad that comes from it. Either way people from both sides will be impacted greatly.

ReplyDeleteFamous writer Jose Narosky once said that in war, there are no unwounded soldiers. He meant that soldiers are not only hurt physically in war, though bombs and bullet wounds. Soldiers are also heavily affected mentally by war. Sometimes, the horrors of war can be too much for a man, causing him to develop post-traumatic stress disorder. Other times, being away for everyone they know and love can play a role in a soldier's mental anguish. Soldiers experience long periods of loneliness, sometimes not seeing their children for months or even years at a time. War can have a huge effect on people, but sometimes, it's not just on the outside.

ReplyDelete“In war there is no unwounded soldier.” –Jose Narosky. This quote, to me, means that every soldier who goes through battle has some type of wound done upon them. Whether it’s a mental or physical wound, there is still some type of pain inflicted. In combat, soldiers can get stabbed, shot, or blown up by things like grenades or IED. But others can experience a different kind of emotional pain from just seeing all this stuff happen. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, is something that can happen to a soldier who saw his friend die, or even having thought of killing another man. Having PTSD can lead to drinking problems, depression, or even suicide. There is really no way to suppress the memories that haunt them. That is how there are no unwounded soldiers in war.
Jessica Scharenbroch
ReplyDeleteYou often hear about alot of soldiers that have come home from war and do not want to talk much about their experience on the battlefield. Every soldier that has been involved in war is in some way "wounded". War is a very difficult experience. Many soldiers suffer from physical, social, mental, and emotional distress or injury. Injuries can prevent someone to continue their life as it was before. War is never something to be happy about, and many people who serve sacrifice alot for their country and the negative outcomes are unbelievable.
Jose's quote,"in war there are no unwounded soliders," could not be more true.Although soliders do not like to admitt they were wounded, in some way they were. Physicaly or mentally our fighters have been hurt. Being struck by a bullet, knife, gernade or any weapon a solider was injured. Watching a friend, family member or another solider experience pain will cause a mental wound to a solider.Even though we may not see it, soliders are always wounded.
