Am Enc- Describe your 9/11 memories.

  1. these memories give me a strong sense of national pride and hate. The people that did this are terrible people and should be punished for the thousands of innocent lives they took. It also gives me a strong sense of pride knowing that no matter what happens, America will rebound and heal itself and you find out what really matters in your life.

My 911 memories was that i was sitting in class i think it was about second grade and it was announced. I remember how freaked out some people were. I wasnt really freaked out because honestly i didnt know what was going on. I also remember some movies that i watched that invovled it.

I remember I was out of school that day because I had a doctor appt. My grandpa had come up from Brookfield and my dad had taken the day off and they were going to stain the deck that had been finished the week before. We were all outside and it was a fairly nice day out, the sun was warm and all of that. Then my mom had called my dad and told him to put on CNN, we then went inside and had witnessed the acts of terror that were done. My dad and grandpa sat on the couch for a brief moment in shock, they then left and i was left at home by myself.

Apparently i was a very unaware child because i had no idea that anything had happened, i think. I didn't learn that this had happened untell the evening, even though everyone else in my class did. It was my parents anniversary and we went out to eat at Culvers. Thats where i first found out about 9-11, on a TV at Culvers.

My 911 memory was sitting at school and an announcement came up that there was a terrorist attack on our nation. I didn't really understand what was going on, but than I came home and saw on the TV the two planes crashing into the towers and my mom, and my aunt and me were praying for all of the people who had died and were in danger of dying. I remember seeing the towers fall and there was shock. My uncles all at that moment wanted to enlist. I remember my mom living those few days after 911 in fear that something else would happen. There was a power shortage because there was an attempt to throw gernades in the Rock Valley Mall and another attempt to blow up the nuclear plant. It wasn't focused on nationally because it was drowned out by 911.

  6. When 9/11 occured I was a fourth grader at Horizon Elementary school in Plymouth. I slightly remember my teachers all discussing things but I didn't know what they were talking about. Some of the teachers put the televisions on too, to watch the news. I mostly remember sitting on the couch with my mom in the living room, watching an airplane flying in the sky on the news.

  7. It has been almost ten years ago since 9/11 happened. It was a tragic seen to be experienced by anyone. I remember being in school and the announcements came on explaining what had just happened. I was quite scared although it was many, many miles away. People were crying all over the country. Coming home my mother had the news on. I sat an watched it with her and it explained and showed what had happened. It was a scary thing and I hope to God, something like that does not happen again.

  8. My 9/11 memories are main from the present. That day i dont remember seeing it the teacher allowed several of the kids to view it happening and i was pushed to the back. My sister was out at Ledge View in the caves, they made all the kids come out and go into the main building just to be safe. 9/11 is the reasona guy who is like my big brother joined the army. I miss him dearly, I never get to see him any more he's either training, over seas, or trying to live his life without thinking of what he saw over there. Another memory I have is that of the starange similarities of that day to many different things like "Q33 NY", if you put that into a word document it shows up as a plane crashing into two tower looking things and the "NY" shows up as a skull and cross bones by the jewish star.

  9. On September 11, 2001, I remember being in in the second grade at Trinity Luthran school. In the middle of one of our classes while doing homework, the prinicpal came into the room. He and the other teachers talked in the corner of the room, talking of the horror of the terror that had just occured. Then we turned the tv's on, seeing the horror ourselves, the principal announced that school would be dismissed earnly. I remember walking home and going inside and seeing my mom crying, sitting on the floor starring at the tv. We sat together watch the replay of what happened over and over; the planes crashing into our world trade center. Fires blazing, papers, people screaming and blood and depared everywhere. It was a scary feeling watching and hearing about the death tolls rising. But also pround to see our country's bravest of police officers, firefighters, and military personel stand up and united to work in the relief and recover efforts to help salvage the rubble and save trapped people. This day will never be forgotten... God bless the USA, and the fallen "343".

I hardly remember anything about 9/11. I was in second grade and I didn't care about what was happening outside of Kiel. I didn't really hear much until I came home and my parents were talking about it.I don't remember it being important until I was in fourth grade. Then I understood what happened.

My 9/11 memories are very fuzzy because at that time i was in class and i didn't find out about the atack until i got home. when i got home I was meet by my mom at the end of my driveway and she told me that some buildings in the US got bombed. after that I went inside and watched the towers fall on the news. I don't remenber any feelings form that day but i can remember the images in perfict order after school.

  12. I can easily remember my thoughts and feelings surrounding the event of 9/11. I was sitting in Mrs. Hornickle's 2nd grade class when everything was announced. I didn't think much of it until I came home and it was posted all over the news. When I saw that a second plane hit the building I knew that what had happened wasn't an accident. I felt sad for the city of New York and for the families of all the victims, but I always looked up to the firefighters that did a great job in dealing with the tragic event.

To be completely honest, I do not remember much about what happened on 9/11. Over the years I began to understand what happened that September. I do know that I was in second grade at Meeme Elementary School. I do believe that we were sent home early to our parents- if I'm not mistaken. I also think many people were sent home in fear of another attack.

September 11, 2001 was a tragic day for America. Two twin towers crashed down from a terrorist attack in New York City. I don't remember anything at all from that day, I was only in second grade. I do remember going home and talking to my parents about it. How upset they were by it. A year later, on September 11, 2002, I remember I was in gym class. We had a moment of silence on the announcements for the year anniversary. My class didn't understand it completely, but our gym teacher explained it better. Asking other people in my family, they tell me what they remember from that day, and I wonder why I didn't remember a single thing from the tragedy.

  15. When 9/11 happened, I was in the second grade at Meeme Elementary School. I do not remember anything from when I was in school and everything actually happened. I probably was not to concerned about things happening around the world when I was so young. Now that I am older, I remember my parents talking about the occurence. Today my family tells me where they were and what they were doing when 9/11 happened seeing as I can not remember clearly becasue I was so young.

  16. I don’t remember much about 9/11. I do remember that I was in second grade and the teacher said that it was fake and that something like that couldn’t happen to the US because everyone loved the U.S. AS the day went on I found out that the ‘bad people” really did kill many people in New York and that we were attacked. I knew that war would follow and that the US would be a lot of trouble but how much I didn’t really understand or know

I remember a little bit about 9/11. I remember I was sitting in my second grade classroom when someone came in and told the teacher what had happened. I remember the teacher turning on one of the news channels, and the whole class could see what happened. I also remember, for about a year, after 9/11, everyone seemed to have more patriotism.

  18. I really can't remember exactly what happened during 9/11, I more so remember where I was at the time when teachers where turing the TV's. I remember being in my 2nd grade classroom and being taught Math. Then my teach turned on the TV and then didn't really say much about it. I really wasn't sure what happened until my parents explained it more that night.

I was in second grade at Magee Elementary School in Two Rivers. I remember being in class, sitting on the floor. All of the sudden, my teacher left class, along with many other teachers, to watch what happened on TV. They also announced what happened over the announcements. I didn't really realize what a big deal this was at the time though. It took me a few years for me to realize how big of a deal it actually was.

I really don't recall a lot of the day I found out about 9/11. I was in second grade when it happened. I remember one of the teachers turned the television on so we could watch what was happening. All of the teachers were crying. Most of the kids didn't really know what was happening at the time. When I went home I turned on the T.V and saw the buildings on fire. I was scared for all of the people inside the buildings. One memory that stands out is the front page of the New York Times. It had a lady running away from the burning World Trade Center. I could see the look of horror and fear on her face. 9/11 is a day no one will ever forget.

They didn't say anything over the announcements about it at my school that day and then when I got home my mom told me what happened and that's really all I remember.

  25. I had gotten off of the school bus after a normal day of school. When I walked in the door my mom told me immediatley what had happend and I didn't really understand the significance of it. I thought that two planes ran into a two buildings and it wasn't a big deal at all. But then the next morning at school me and my second grade class all talked about what happend and then I realized how many people died and that we could go into war with the people who did this. What happend was awful and it made me sad and angry at the people who did it.

  26. On 9/11, I was sitting in second grade. I remember all the teachers making a big deal about something. I really didn’t know what happened. As we were sitting in class, my teacher turned on the TV, and let us watch the news. Even though I had no idea what was going on, Iwas still could feel the sadness. All the teachers at school were scared yet confused. When I got home after school, my mom was watching the news. I asked my mom what had happened, and she explained it much better so I could understand. That was a very scary day for everyone in America, no matter how far away someone lived.

Memories of 9/11 are memories that many people may not want to remember. All the people that died and all the firemen that risked their lives to save everyone else. Those are memories that will never be forgotten. Everyone being honored for what they have done awarded for their help and the fallen are never forgotten they are considered the real hero’s of 9/11

  28. Nine, eleven. I don't remember much from this day. I know I was sitting in class and the teaches were all acting strange. They wouldn't tell us kids anything, but we all sensed something was wrong. I remember my parents telling my sister and I that night at supper about the happenings. I coundn't really grasp or comprehend the events. I couldn't feel anything, or relate to the situation. I was numb at that time. I didn't really give it to much thougth until a few years later. I then knew more about what happened and the history between the countries. It amazes me how oblivious I was that day to what the world is up against, with all the fighting and whatnot. As a kid, you don't care about much other than what's in your own back yard, we don't understand much of what's across the street or around the world.

My 9/11 memory is when I was in second grade. I still lived in Sheboygan and my class was coming inside from recess. We were being loud and having fun, like any typical second grader. But when we entered our class room, everything was quiet. All of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade teachers were sitting there, quietly, just staring at the television. When we asked what happened, they told us we’ll talk about it another day and then went on as if nothing had happened. Later, when I got home my parents explained to me what had happened. That is the memory I have of 9/11.

I don't really remember alot from when 911 happened. I do know I was still in elementary school, and that they did not tell us at school. When I got home I remember my parents were sitting in the living room with the news on and they looked concerned. I diddn't get what was going on untill I saw it on t.v., and even after that I really diddn't understand it. I wasn't sure how to feel and diddn't understand why someone would crash an airplaine into a building while many people were still in it. Looking back now I feel like it was so long ago, and I being as little as I was it makes sence that I would not have understood it like I do now.

On that dreadful i was in my third grade classroom at New Holstein Elementry/Middle school and we were about to celebrate a birthday the kids name is Tyler Kulow..and my teachers name was Mrs. Schordeoer and right as he was about to blow out his candle on his cupcake all the teachers got a call saying to turn on the news then we had to go home. On my way home i remember hearing these 8th graders talking and one said to the other that this is going to be a big topic in the news for the next 25 years.

when 9/11 happened, i was in second grade. I had no clue what it was or what was happening. I didn't even know what a terrorist was. and I remember teachers and parents not letting us watch the news about what was going on. then all of a sudden teachers started teaching us all about what was going on in iraq and the war. Once i understood what 9/11 was, i felt sypathetic towards all the people killed and injured and all of their families, even though i didn't know anybody who had anything to do with it. even though i was too young to know at the time, i think it opened my eyes to think more about other people and less about things going on with just me.

My 9/11 memories include sitting in my second grade class room doing the usual class work. Then on the loud speaker came the announcement that the twin towers had been attacked in New York City. At that time it didn’t have much effect on me because I was so young and didn’t understand the immensity of it all. Three years later my family and I traveled to New York City and visited the site of which the Twin Towers once stood. It was then looking down at all the ruble and the memorials around it finally made me connect with the feeling or morning and loss. Another three years later it hit me again when I had to say goodbye to my 19 year old brother. He was headed to Afghanistan to fight for our county in result of the twin tower attack.

On September 11, news was out that there was an attack in New York. I remember watching TV and seeing people crying, running, and screaming. They were scared and wondering if they will make it through the day alive. I also saw the twin towers falling into one another. Glass was shattering and cars were smashed. There was a lot of damage in that city, physically and mentally. May God be with us all.
